Updated September 24, 2026. An oxy-fuel hose repair kit and a TIG torch kit solve different problems. Neither description means that every connection, hose, or accessory will fit your equipment. Identify the system first, then compare the exact kit contents and installation requirements.
Do not treat a leaking gas hose as a quick patch job
Remove a damaged or leaking assembly from use and follow the equipment instructions for safe shutdown and depressurization. OSHA 1910.253(e)(5) addresses oxy-fuel hoses, secure connections, testing requirements, and repair or replacement of hoses that are unfit for service. This is more than a visual check that a new fitting appears tight.
Arrange inspection and any permitted repair through personnel competent in the relevant hose-assembly procedure. Use the approved hose, fittings, ferrules, tooling, and testing method. Do not use tape or an improvised clamp to conceal a leak. If a compliant repair cannot be confirmed, replace the assembly.
Match the kit to the hose and gas service
Western Enterprises' hose-kit catalog shows that kits differ by hose size, fitting arrangement, and crimping equipment. Do not assume that a kit for one hose size or connection series covers another.
Before ordering, identify the hose manufacturer's markings, intended gas service, inside and outside diameters, fitting size and thread direction, and the specified ferrule and crimp tooling. Hose color alone is not a complete specification.

A TIG torch kit needs a separate compatibility check

Read the exact bill of materials rather than relying on the word “kit.” A hand valve controls gas; it is not, by itself, a remote amperage control.

Photographs can help identify the equipment, but a photograph alone cannot establish an assembly's pressure rating or suitability for service.
